Joe Bongiovanni is a second-generation monetary reformer, studying money systems with his father who actually did the research for over 40 years. Joe and his family moved to the Maritimes in Canada in 1971 where they took up homesteading, and non-nuclear energy policy advancement. Joe worked as Energy and Economic Policy Analyst for the Liberal Party of New Brunswick. In 1980, they moved to Vermont where Joe again took up advocating for non-nuclear energy policies and got hired as General Manager of an electric cooperative. He served for 11 years on the Board of Directors of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), including five years as Chair of its Legal, Regulatory and Energy Policy Committee. Joe still serves on the Board of the Coventry Clean Energy Corporation. He is also the co-founder and director of the Kettle Pond Institute for Debt-free Money in Vermont. Joe’s deep background in money system understandings makes him an outspoken leader of this modern movement for reform.
